Reunion Island

FRANCE

Réunion is a tropical island in the heart of the Indian Ocean. Réunion is famous for its still-active volcano, Piton de la Fournaise, and its frequent eruptions offer an exceptional spectacle. The chaotic terrain of the interior, dominated by the Piton des Neiges at an altitude of 3070 m, is home to a flora and fauna that is unique in the world, making it a veritable paradise for nature lovers. With the creation of the Parc National de La Réunion covering 43% of its territory, the island was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010. Reunion boasts a rich coastline, with lagoons and white sandy beaches, as well as wilder coasts cut and battered by the Indian Ocean.
