A historic first
Tangier, a port city in northern Morocco, considered the Moroccan capital of the Strait of Gibraltar and the gateway to the African continent. Filled with history, it is one of the oldest cities in North Africa. For the first time, a round-the-world start will be held on African lands.

Saturday 18th June :
11:00 am – Inauguration and official start of the event with opening of the village to the public.
6:00 pm – Cocktail reception for the crews at the Royal Yacht Club of Tangier.
Sunday 19th June :
6:00 pm-9:00 pm – Music band on the village stage – Don Yassine.
Monday 20th June :
Morning and afternoon: Reception of school children on village (visit of the pontoon, exchanges with the skippers, presentation of the race, RYCT intervention) – Time to be confirmed.
Tuesday 21st June :
Day dedicated to the RYCT: Visit of the pontoon, exchanges with the skippers, regatta in optimist (follow-up of the crews in semi-rigid) – Schedule to be confirmed.
Wednesday 22nd June :
Morning and afternoon: Reception of school children on the village (visit of the pontoon, exchanges with the skippers, presentation of the race, RYCT intervention) – Time to be confirmed.
Thursday 23rd June :
Morning: Reception of associations in the race village.
2:00 pm: Skipper and safety briefing for the crews at the RYCT.
4:00 pm: Official photo of the crews at the RYCT.
7:00 pm : Official dinner for the crews at the Moulay Hafid Palace.
Friday 24th June :
3:00 pm: “Regatta show” in the bay of Tangier.
Saturday 25th June :
10:00 am : Briefing of the crews at the RYCT.
4:00 pm : Official presentation of the crews on the village stage.
7:00 pm : Concert on the village stage – Artist to be confirmed.
Sunday 26th June :
3:00 pm : Start of the Globe40 to Sao Vicente (1st leg).
